Shareholder Rachel Beauchamp Presents at MVA CLE In Minnesota

Attorneys Lindberg and Beauchamp obtain summary judgment for national-level sports sanctioning body on special relationship abuse case

Attorneys Peter M. Lindberg and Rachel Beauchamp were pleased to obtain summary judgment on behalf of their client, a national-level sports sanctioning body. The case turned around whether the sanctioning body had a duty to protect Plaintiff from abuse perpetrated by a coach who was not its employee or agent; and, in circumstances in which the sanctioning body had no prior notice of any malfeasance by the coach.  Plaintiff argued that an expansive definition of “special relationships” from California should apply to impose a duty on the national sanctioning body to protect Plaintiff from the abuse perpetrated by the coach.   … Read more

Cousineau Malone congratulates Rachel Beauchamp, in her role as Secretary on the MDLA Board of Directors, on planning and hosting an amazing Mid-Winter MDLA conference in Walker, MN.  The conference focused on sharing legal knowledge and experience among the Minnesota defense bar, creating connection with colleagues and co-counsel, and on the future of the legal profession with changing populations, changing laws and standards, and even changing practice norms in the time of AI. Cousineau Malone Congratulates Rachel Beauchamp and Christopher Malone on a defense verdict following an eight-day jury trial

Attorneys Rachel Beauchamp and Chris Malone were proud to defend American Indian Community Development Corporation from a medical negligence claim asserting that it was negligent in its detoxification care when the  Plaintiff eloped from a detoxification facility while under a court commitment order – seven day after eloping he sustained severe personal injuries.  After an eight-day trial involving both liability and damages, as well as six expert witnesses, Plaintiff asked the jury to award in excess of $15 million in damages.   The jury found AICDC to have NO FAULT with regards to the care provided to Plaintiff.  It was an  … Read more

Attorneys Malone and Novotny prevail on multi-vehicle accident summary judgment motion 

In a Wisconsin lawsuit involving a plaintiff, who sued the drivers, employers, and insurers of nearly 40 vehicles involved in multiple accidents in white-out conditions, attorneys Malone and Novotny obtained summary judgment for their driver, motor carrier, and insurer, with the court finding the plaintiff failed to present sufficient evidence of any causal connection between his injuries and most of the other vehicles on the highway, including our clients.
